Our house is tucked onto the side of a rocky mountain ridge. The ridge stretches for miles from east to west, across western Arkansas into Oklahoma. It must have a name, and I will look for it on one of those maps listing names of obscure mountain ridges.
Nestled into the back yard, on the side of the mountain, is a pool. It has become my sanctuary in this heat. The kids are tired of swimming, and sometimes, it is just too hot to swim. The poolside thermometer consistently reads 110 degrees, and I think the water must be in the 90s. Nonetheless, I find it very soothing to be in my private backyard, swimming away, no troubles on my mind. If troubles enter, I send them away quickly. That is much easier now that I am in my 40s, one of the blessings of growing older. And it is easy because this is just a very good time in our lives.
I hope you have a great weekend! We have lots of indoor and outdoor projects we are finishing. I hope to blog about them soon.
