--Clay in South Dakota with his father and our four children.
Happy Father's Day to my husband and father of our four children, Clay.
He is a strong man who works hard for us every single day.
He teaches the children about God and being loving and patient and kind when people do not deserve it. He teaches about forgiveness and being cautious with one's tongue. He shows them to not react, but to think things through first.
He shows them that loving one's family is a top priority.
He takes us on fun road trips.
He loves all relatives, snow, blizzards, South Dakota, hunting, pheasants, bear skin rugs, big animal heads with antlers, steaks, mushrooms, potatoes, a good scotch, funny stories, good news, Harley Davidson's, the color blue, art, running, channel-surfing, history, China, homemade meals, surprises, traveling, and many other things. He loves life.
He wants us all to speak Mandarin.
He calls Annabelle "DLP", Daddy's Little Princess, and insists that she call herself that. She giggles about her nickname.
He always has time for his guys at work. He encourages them to finish their college degrees, even if it means no more pay for them. He seems to understand that unfinished goals are a nagging negativity to people.
He calls me Kato, or a list of other sweet nicknames. Lovingly, he says, "But you are my Kato and always will be".
He gets me. He gets the kids, each one of them. He knows what makes them tick, what encourages them, and when to hold them accountable.
I thank God for Clay being the man in our lives. He is wonderful.
