Tornado Time

In the past week, I have watched two tornadoes form before my very eyes. One was actually JUST a rotation that did not touch down until it travelled about an hour away from us.

One was when I was on a school bus, loaded with fourth graders. I said to the bus driver, "I want to take a class on how to spot tornadoes.", to which he replied, "You don't need a class; look right there!".

It was very interesting how it was beginning to drop down and rotate. We drove right under it, to the safety of the school.

Storm chasers used to seem crazy to me, but now I understand! This is very exciting and quite fun, because so far, the tornadoes have done no damage to our area.

The above photo is what I saw last night. The tornado was so obvious from a distance that I took he kids out onto the highway to view it. It was about ten miles away and headed the opposite direction of our home.

Stay safe my friends!

That is so cool...Very ominous. Would love to see one up close, but not too close. Those storm chasers must get such a rush. Praying for the folks in Alabama.

Kate, so glad you are okay. Fascinating, but terrifying to those reading it about what could have been!! Stay safe, sweet Kate!
