This week has been splendid for me. Each day was a different assignment at school. The secretary hooked me up with the fun job of being a judge at Quiz Bowl. Working with these young, motivated brains was great. I sat there and thought, "I get paid for this? Seriously?".
My favorite day was working at Special Olympics. It had never occurred to me that I would even remotely enjoy this day. Let me just say, it was so positive and encouraging to these young athletes. To see their smiles and excitement when they won a ribbon or medal...it was heart-warming and throat-tightening.
The finish line was where the best action occurred. All across the finish were bikers in their black leather and tattoos. They high-fived, hugged, threw their arms in the air, for every athlete who came their way. The men were there for HOURS in the bright sunshine, with no reward except the joy on the athlete's faces.
It was worth a million!

Oh, how sweet that must have been. Look at how happy she is. Is that Mario Lopez with her? LOL........Sounds like a fun time.
What a great story - just more proof that you can't judge a book by its cover!
