Warp Speed

The truth is, life is going forward at warp speed.

From early in the morning, until late at night, my time is occupied by many many activities and obligations.

Many involve the children and just normal family life. Much involves me and all that I personally want to accomplish.

The result is that they days are flying by...then weeks, then months.

I regret that I am not in touch with many people I care about. Birthday cards are not sent. Phone calls are not made.

But I am happy. Happy that the kids and Clay are well. Happy that the sun shines, the garden is started, and I have garlic chives growing at my back door.

Another truth is that Arkansas will never be the place of cultural intrigue that I desire. The art museums and festivals, book signings and historical home tours, etc, are non-existent or rare. Except for the people and the natural beauty, it is just plain BLAH here.

One truth I must keep in mind is that I have met many wonderful people here. Mothers, educators, friends....many have been blessings to me.

I mull all this over day after day and have found many days of great optimism.

I even wrote a poem the other day.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend.

Much love.
