Annabelle met the mailwoman at the door, and brought a package to me while I made lunch.
It seemed to be from my ((older)) brother and sister-in-law in Indiana. I was surprised. It's not my birthday, it's not Christmas...there's no obvious reason for them to send a big box.
When I opened it, I could not believe my eyes. On top was a HAND-WRITTEN letter from my SIL. She has three boys 5 and under, so writing a long letter would be a huge accomplishment. Also, there was a fabulous book that I know I will enjoy.
And to top it off, the icing on the cake, there was a full box of sweet corn from my brother's garden.
Oh, the joy that this package brought. I felt the love and thoughtfulness ooozzzing out of it.
We immediately ate some of the corn for lunch. It was the best corn I have ever tasted, so sweet and fresh. Mark is truly an amazing gardener.
If only I could make someone's day like that! That is the beauty about receiving kindness. It inspires me to give it to others.
Thank you, Amee and Mark, for making my day.

Hope the kids enjoyed it too....It isn't summer without Indiana sweet corn right? We love and miss ya all...xoxo Mark, Amee and boys
That's great Kate, what a fun package!
I have tried growing it here, and it was a disaster. I think IN has the perfect mix of rain and sunshine, soil, etc. It tasted soo good. Now, if he can come off some of his morels. LOL!!
gotta love happy mail! especially when it is super yummy!
