Max's Mission Trip

My eldest child, Max, went on a mission trip to a large city in Texas. He rode on a bus with about 40 other people, most of whom were 8th-12th graders. He was one of two 8th graders.

Their charge was to go into poor apartment complexes and share the love of Jesus through games, songs, telling stories, etc.

You can tell by the photos that Max had a wonderful time.

I picked him up at the church at midnight when they arrived back in town. He talked all the way home. So many memories, so many little children he called by name. He told me which ones were shy, which ones were competitive, etc. (He was in charge of games for his group, which I must say was perfect. He is always making up games!)

I prayed that they would stay safe and be a joyful witness to the children. My prayers were answered, for which I am very thankful.

I LOVE opportunities like this. To see my children grow in the Lord helps them in so many ways. He grew confidence and independence, too. What a good week!

That is so wonderful. He will have that forever in his heart and mind. Was he gone an entire week? Wow, if he was. Good for him....I hope he reached many children... : )

He was gone from Sunday morning 'til Friday at midnight. It was so quiet without him. He still talks about the little children, who begged the group to stay. :)
