I had a long post written about my son Solomon, and how he tracked mud down the hall to his bedroom (cream carpet), and how I made him scrub every footprint to oblivion. THEN, through the miracle of technology, the post disappeared. I take that as a hint from God that I am sharing too much, and that I should not embarrass my children on my blog, so I won't re-write that post.
We had such a nice weekend. Clay took us to Lake Tenkiller, in eastern Oklahoma's Ozark Mountains. It is a 14,000 acre lake that was created by damming the Illinois River, and was named after a Cherokee chief who operated a ferry.
The famous children's book, Where the Red Fern Grows, was set in the Illinois River valley, south of Tahlequah, Oklahoma. This is where Lake Tenkiller lies today. WHO KNEW?
Clay's company has an annual bass tournament there for its employees.
It is wonderful to see these hardworking steel men at leisure. Most of them work a lot of overtime to make ends meet. They always mention how our kids are growing, and they ooh and aaah over Annabelle. It is really sweet. They remind me of all the other men we have met in Indiana and Ohio, and it makes me miss my brothers. Please don't tell them. Don't want them to get cocky, lol.
One of my favorite things to do locally is drive into new territory. This was really fun! Hope you did something fun this weekend, too. Happy Monday!

Sounds like a lovely weekend! It is a pretty part of the country. That it does have going for it!
Had to laugh Kate as I just tried to leave you a comment and it disappeared as well. Lovely area of the country was what I was going to say.
OK, now both comments are here and the first one wasn't a minute ago. Look how many comments I'm leaving!
