I have three favorite local quotes. One I heard when we first moved here, the latter two I heard on Friday.
Said to me: "When you opened yo' mouth,
I knew I didn't want anthing to do with your kind."
(This was a reference to my Yankee accent)
Overheard: "Can you believe they hired him as superintendent? I mean, he's
not even FROM HERE!!!!!".
"That new PTO officer is an atheist. Let's just not tell him when the
meetings are."
I know one's first instinct is to think these were said in jest
or in good humor, but these people were serious.
I think I miss you !!

I know... they are always completely 100% serious! it boggles my mind!
WOWSERS, I hadn't heard that first one (you got to see my reaction on the latter two). I would so LOVE to load these people (and yes, I'm lumping them all into one group) onto a plane and drop them into downtown San Fransisco or Atlanta -they would honestly not be able to function. Little, teeny tiny fish in a big pond. . .
Wow Kate, you're stories just get better. I really don't know what you will do for entertainment if you ever move.
