A package arrived in the mail the other day for Annabelle from my mom, Grandma Bon-Bon. It was a cowgirl outfit, i.e. a vest and a skirt with fringe. She LOVED it. She is really getting into dressing up, but not like princesses. She prefers cowboys or superheroes.
She insisted we rush out and buy a cowboy hat to match the outfit. All I could think was, "HOW MANY cowboy hats have I purchased over the years, and how many of them have ended up in those clutter piles?". She found the perfect red one and has been doing cowboy dancing since. It is very funny. I have no idea where she learned to dance like this. It is kind of a hip-hop and western combo...very cute and her feet move so fast. She reminds me so much of my niece who used to put on shows for me when she was four.
Today I found a recipe for Cowboy Cookies from a cookbook from my hometown. Annabelle donned her outfit and hat and is shown holding a Cowboy Cookie. Look how happy she looks! The recipe had THREE STICKS of BUTTER in it, so I am going to try to limit my consumption. Happy Thursday to you! Thanks for the Cowboy inspiration, Grandma Bon-Bon.

So much fun! A girl after my own heart. I still have my cowgirl vest from my kid days. It's brown and has lots of fringe.
How cute! When I was about 4 years old I can remember my red cowboy hat, stick horse and little cowboy boots. I would ride all over the house while watching Roy Rogers and Dale Evans--boy am I old!!! LOL
Danica- you are a true Oklahoma gal!
Susan- I sometimes think about mentioning people like Dale Evans to younger women, then I choose to bite my tongue instead. LOL It is safe to mention her here. :)
