I wasn't going to vote, as the early lines have been soooo long, and I think this state usually votes a certain way, so my vote was not needed. Plus, I've been busy with the kids.
I did a search last night and found out we vote at a church very close to our home, so I went for it. There was no line, I knew a couple of people, and it was FUN. It felt GREAT to vote.
On the way to school, Elliot asked me if they were voting today in China. It was precious. What a wonderful time to tell the kids how fortunate we are to live in this country, to have this PRIVILEGE to vote. My parents always told me that. I am looking forward to staying up very late watching the returns. It is a historic time in our country. This is simplistic, but I feel that both candidates are good men. Yes, they have strengths and weaknesses, but both are solidly good men. I look forward to what the winner will do when elected.
Sometimes I feel pessimistic, but overall, what a great country this is. God bless America.
