Melamine

Today I hear that melamine has been found in chocolate coin candy from China. This candy was supposed to be given out at Halloween! I am wondering what ELSE it is in. It has been found in eggs and some expats living in China are afraid to eat the local food. I feel like this is just the tip of the iceberg.

You have probably read the news accounts of how melamine was added to the baby formula in China. This made it appear to be higher in protein when tested, and of course gave it more volume. Well, now many adopted babies/children are testing positive for kidney stones, kidney problems, etc.

The oldest adoption date for a child with diagnosed kidney stones: adopted in September, 2004. We received Annabelle in May, 2005. She has no symptoms, but many of the affected children are asymptomatic.

I don't see the need to have her tested yet. We'll just sit on this info and see how it all plays out. It is maddening to think plastic is in the systems of innocent people, especially children.

I am praying daily for this crazy world in which we live. That's my vent for the day. Onward to joy!!! :)
