Our journey through raising our youngest child is much different than previous parenting journeys. LOL It's not because she is adopted, and not because she is from China, but because she is FEMALE. This is my blog so that is my opinion. :)
For the record, none of our boys have been in a fist fight at school. They have not been in trouble of any sort. They have not received the dreaded "detention", save for one who received a dentention for laughing in class. I really wasn't upset about that. For the most part, our boys have been really good.
Now, to the fist fight.
Our daughter has friend who is really tall and big for her age. She has won many pageants. She is an only child and quite bossy. I would say she has a good 20 pounds on our child(size is relevant to this story). So on Monday, as the big girl's mom walked into the classroom, she saw her daughter being bossy to Annabelle, and then the girl punched Annabelle in the face. Annabelle came back with not one, but several blows to this little girl's face.
Apparently, I don't have a shrinking violet on my hands. I am amazed that Annabelle fought back. Can you visualize this? Oh my, we have laughed a little...along with being mortified. The journey continues.

I have found with raising two daughters sometimes the characteristics which are most difficult to deal with as a parent are exactly the qualities which will serve them well as an adult. All I can say is good for Annabelle! LOL
