Friday night

Well, it is Friday night, and the first week of school is under our belts. It has been wonderful. Here are some highlights:

Annabelle loves her teacher. Can I get an Amen, Thank You Jesus?

Elliot- precious boy is always happy with his teachers and wants to go to Notre Dame some day. Bless his heart. His standardized test scores came back and were nearly perfect in math. Good job, Elliot!

Solomon- got the gift of a homeroom teacher who is YOUNG and COOL and male. Sol is very happy. He has turned into an extremely thoughtful boy. He puts ice cubes in the dogs' water bowl. He turns off lights before we leave in the morning (without being asked). He hugs me a lot and tells me how much he loves me.

Maxwell- Max is fighting to earn a position on the football team. You may know, I did not let him play last year due to headaches. He is symptom free now and is in awesome shape. He is not worried about it. After football practice, he and his buddies discuss religion all the way home: comparing denominations, critiquing the Mormon bible, how to pray the rosary, etc. At almost 15, he has a strong sense of who is he, and football is a minor part of it. That boy blesses my heart so much.

My job is busy and fun. I have learned a lot of little tasks this week that keep a library rolling along smoothly. I put new covers on paperback books, processed 200 books to add to our collection, took tattered books out of the collection, saw about 650 kids and helped them get their books....etc. The day goes quickly, and the librarian is very nice, funny and complimentary. When she called me a work horse, I had to chuckle. Truly, psych units make the rest of the world seem like a walk in the park!

Clay has some interesting prospects in the works that I may be able to report on in a few weeks. All in all, life is really good.

Praying you had a good week too, and that your blessings number more than your worries. I bet they do!
