Storm and Sunshine

The storm bore down on us Tuesday morning with an unusual three hours of rain/sleet/snow. The ice covered the roads, and the snow measured a slight 2 inches (if that). Most of our roads go untreated, so they are very slick. There are lots of bridges, valleys, country roads that become quite dangerous. The children are on day 2 of snow vacation.

The sun came out brightly as you can see in this photo. I saw the platter-inside-oval-frame idea on a blog, but I don't remember which one. I added a stack of garden books because it is time for all gardeners to start dreaming.

It appears that most of my friends/family weathered the storm very well. It was a monster, wasn't it? Prayer always helps me through such worry! Love you all!

Kate, had to smile at your sunshine. It was so sunny here all day after the snow blew away. I have heard the weather is goofy this year due to La Nina and some other weather phenomenon.

Oh,we're so happy it's all finally over and electricity is restored. I am so glad you are just a 'text' away, although I do wish you were closer. The sunshine was so encouraging to see once the storm passed!

I like your platter in a frame - very cute! Sometimes I wish we didn't have all the electric gaming systems either - monitoring time is working better. Weather is crazy up here.

I love the platter within the oval wooden picture frame idea too - and, I also love the Hoosier cabinet and remember the top part was "nailed" to the shop walls because no one except you saw the beauty in it!
