Play Station- don't do it!

We arrived home after Annabelle's basketball game, and all three boys were reading. One on the computer; two had books from their schools' libraries.

This is what happens when Mama hides the Playstation controllers.

If you have small children, and if you value education, I urge you to not invest in a Playstation. I believe it is a huge mistake to have this addictive machine in one's home. Even when we limit the hours, it is still a distraction.

OK, off my soap box.

Happy Saturday! Gonna go sit in the sun with a friend while Max tries out for a soccer team.

You and Paulina inspired me not to get one - until Greg got us a wii for xmas. I can see how quickly you can fall into its trap. I got annoyed at the leapster as they would just ZONE out even with that - interacting with NOTHING. I try to stay true to my good ol' boardgames!! Kids love the Cat in the Hat game you got them and Uno Attack is another fun filled game they have fallen in love with.

I agree, but why do we feel like they have to have these games. My boys are obsessed with "Mario" on the wii. It has already been taken away for a week. They played so together so creatively without it. I made them go outside today and get some exercise as the sun is beaming today....finally.

There is a lot of pressure to get these games, for sure! Long, cold winters add to their appeal. I think the wii is better, at least they are usually moving a bit. Praying spring comes early to my northern friends.

I feel strongly about this too. It is a huge part of parenting to limit the amount of screen time kids get. It's hard but so important.
