Heavy Heart

(photos shamelessly stolen from her blog)

I am very happy when my friends get promotions, or get to move to an area of the country which is a good fit for them.

BUT I AM NOT HAPPY WHEN MY FRIENDS MOVE AWAY!!

I met my friend Julie about 3 years ago. She had moved her from Minnesota, and we were both in culture shock. We were both appalled at the same things that we witnessed on a daily basis.

We wrote fake books in our heads. Hers was to be entitled, something like, "I am the Invisible Woman", because of the odd tendency for people here to ignore one another.(I could give a million examples of said ignoring, but that would take too long)

Julie has a great husband, two adorable kids, and a back yard PERFECT for playdates. Our friend Paulina and I have spent many hours at Julie's playing, talking, eating. To say she has the gift of hospitality is an understatement.

She and her family are moving to Michigan. **sigh**

They will be missed. I have shed many tears over this. It is time for me to buck up and be happy for them. This is not good-bye, just see ya later in the Great White North.

Thank you for your friendship,Julie, which helped me through some dark days. Thank you children, for always sharing your toys, and your house, and your love. Good luck Greg in your new position! You will be missed but we are soooo happy for you!

Okay sister, here is the plan because I too am crushed/happy for them chicks flying back north....while they are away on their little jaunts we shall team up and go over to their homes and dig up all their plants since obviously they cant take them with them, then we will have helped out by taking care of their precious greens and getting to keep a piece of them with us, plus we get to satisfiy our own greedy little green hearts.....call me and we'll set the plan in motion, I know D will be gone next week....did you want dibs on their pool cause I'm getting the garden shed !?

What a cute family! So sorry to hear this--I totally understand, we have had the two families we were closest to move out of state in the past two years and I didn't think anyone ever left NJ!
