My boy!

After months of suffering from headaches, dizziness, ringing in ears, etc., I have convinced our eldest that he won't die if he skips a year of football. His two concussions have really affected his life. He can expect a bad headache to occur frequently after exertion, and he enjoys exertion very much.

In the mean time, he has improved his basketball skills, been asked to be on a traveling team with some really good players, and MADE the 8th grade basketball team. He is joyous about basketball.

The fact that he has accepted this change of plans is an answer to prayer. I prayed and prayed that he would come to some peace about skipping football. This seems to have come to fruition, and I thank God, and I thank YOU for all your support.

You know it has been a hard road for me emotionally. The struggle was keeping him safe, and balancing that with letting him make his own choices, AND not steamrolling Clay in the athletic department of parenting.

We are on a happy path into spring and summer. Happy Tuesday!

Awesome, he will be just as driven and great as he was at football. After a great basketball season, he will be like "what's football"?

SO GLAD he is accepting this and is moving on to more "head-friendly" sports. What a journey this has been - wow, what a journey. . . .

Love you!
