My heart has felt such satisfaction since I have been subbing.
I find that manipulating a group of kindergarteners into great behavior is a cinch compared to leading a group of 6-10 on a psychiatric unit. Who knew?
I have two favorite areas. Enjoyed very much the self-contained classroom of boys with various severities of autism. Also enjoyed the gifted/talented classroom, leading discussions and activities on topics like "analogy".
Enjoyed the catered meal in the teacher's lounge. Love watching the teachers and seeing what cliques they are in, how they interact with the children. The administrators are driven to make their school great.
This school system is wonderful and is growing.
I hope I can continue to be a part of it. I like the balance of subbing and mothering. Seems to be working well for my heart and soul! A very pleasant surprise.

Balance isn't easy to find, especially for moms. So happy for you and the children you are blessing!
Aren't kindergartners fun?? I think that is awesome, Kate, and I hope you are enjoying having your own money after allllll those years!
Cool..........sounds like you are loving it... Waiting to work when all your kids are in school sounds like an awesome idea. Seems like you balanced it all just right, good for you Kath : )
When you first told me you were thinking about subbing I remember telling Chris, "She was born for this!" So glad you are loving it...Who Knew? God did, that's Who!
