My New Job

I started my new job today...substitute teaching! Actually, I was an aid to a sweet lil autistic boy. We got along splendidly. I am sure it was just a honeymoon period, but one of teachers said this is the best day he has had in a long time. I am so happy! I haven't thrown away all my knowledge with the baby diapers. lol.

It is almost 8pm. We are out of milk, the laundry is in, went to two basketball games, burnt leaves, etc etc, now I am running to Wal-Mart. Clay is on a business trip. This will be a lot to juggle, but I am feeling soooo happy. I hope the school calls again soon!!!

WOW KATE!! That is awesome - I so know why that boy fell in love. You are so calm, so patient, so caring - I know how he felt the moment he met you as I felt the same way. Here is someone who will sit and listen to me and won't rush me or try to make me be something I'm not - here is someone who will accept me for who I am. I so know the vibe he picked up on from you :)

Okay....Julie, you made me cry too !
I've got a very active (I wont say ADD, as he has been labled) child in my class and he thrives for me because I am patient and focused with him and he knows he has to answer my questions so he can receive my praise which is really my gift because he just radiates when he gives me the correct answer.
