Tales from Kindergarten

She's like a little reporter for the Chronicle-Times. You know the type....VERY detail-oriented and accurate.

The boys used to be mortified by her when she first learned to talk. They would do their usual antics out of mama's sight, then she would run in and give me the details. I mean details like who threw the first punch, who called a name, who was wearing the red shoes. They weren't used to having a tattle-tale. Some would say this hypervigilance to her environment is from neglect in the crib. But nonetheless, it is a good quality now.

So, she comes home from school telling this story, and I have no doubt it is true. One boy punched another at nap time. So the teacher said, "Punch him back so he knows just how it feels". And the little victim punched the bully just like the teacher said.

She was obviously surprised and amazed that this is how the teacher handled it. Well, so am I, but I am not here to judge. I report, you decide. :)

Wow, I'm surprised the boys haven't learned the art of bribery.

Okay, my mouth is still hanging open. I think standing up to a bully is the best tactic. However, there are other ways to set boundaries aren't there?

Sometimes it would be nice to be able to say that! I hope the bully learned his lesson.

That might bite her back (no pun intended) when the others catch on to the "rule". I LOVE that Annabelle reports, SO cute!
