Following Her Dream

I have a friend who is doing something that makes me happy, and I wanted to share it with you.

She was my neighbor for a few years. She and I shared many a conversation about our small town, how lonesome it could be, as we tried to fit in and find our own circle of friends.

At that time, it seemed she would be a career woman, while I was surrounded by babies and diapers. I will never forget how she seemed to understand every phase I entered.

Supportive? Oh, my, this gal was supportive. I remember being comforted by her great meals as I grieved the loss of a child in an adoption gone awry. She totally GOT IT. She was not uncomfortable with my tears, she just listened and encouraged.

Fast forward 4 years. She has two sweet little babies. She has found her niche in her town and her church. The best part of all is that she is following God's calling and is entering women's ministry.

As a person who needed a shoulder to cry on, and a woman who needed to hear that God did not forsake me, I can tell you first hand that O'ney is going to be spectacular at ministering to the needs of women. Right now she is at a conference for women who speak to women.

I love you, O'ney, and will never ever forget your support. Thank you, my friend, and warmest wishes as you enter this new, exciting portion of your life!
