I am proud (?????) to report that Annabelle's All-Star T-ball team came in second place in the State Tournament. They played very well for as little as they are. It was blazing hot. I do not EVEN want to know what the heat index was. The kids had fun throwing water on each other in the dugout to stay cool. They played three games on Saturday, with the championship at 2:30 pm. HOT HOT HOT.
The kicker: there were only TWO teams of five-year-olds in the tournament! Yes, the first two games we played were for "fun" against 6-7 year olds. Reasonable parents kept their kids out of this tournament. I imagine they were glad the season was over AND they were concerned about the heat.
I can say that Annabelle is tickled blue (not pink, because she prefers blue) with her shiny new trophy. It is her first and she has wanted one for a very long time, like the ones that her brothers have.
All-in-all she had a great time and I am sure, will never forget her first tournament.
