I put a mini-garden in outside my kitchen window. I added hydrangea (of course), foxglove, and some sweet little hosta. At first I thought there was something wrong with me. After all, WHO ELSE feels joy flooding over them when they see plants blooming?
I did not have to dig deep to find others who are like me. There was my Grandma Lena, who even when she could not walk well, had a window full of the most beautiful house plants. Then my mom came to mind, who has an amazing flower garden surrounding her house. Oh- and my dad. I bet he loves seeing rows and rows of corn, soy beans, alfalfa...whatever the season holds for his fields, I'll bet the blooms make him happy.
I should mention my sister, who planted thousands of tulip bulbs in her flower garden and enjoys them every spring. How about Grandma Naomi? To make her day the BEST, you could take her a mushroom from the woods, or a garden-grown tomato.
All three of my brothers are gardeners. HEY, I'm not feeling so strange after all. How does your garden grow? :)

It is exciting and amazing to be reminded of the miracle of new growth each spring. I can't tell you how excited the girls get when they see a sprout or our flowers blooming. God is good!
Well girl, you know I love a beautiful garden. I've been meaning to tell you that my boss gave me a hydrangea for secretaries day. Is the one in the picture the only one you have? I remember the house in Ladoga and all the plants you had there. They were beautiful. Miss you friend!
