The Mother of All Storms

I was sitting at a soccer game last night watching that massive storm blow in from Oklahoma. It was the widest, darkest, most ominous storm I have ever seen.

There was talk amongst the parents that we really should end the game at half-time and get to shelter. We finished the game in time to arrive home to hail, only penny-sized.

The Mother Storm bore 24 tornadoes! I have not been scared of weather until moving here. It is truly phenonmenal to see such strength in clouds.

The good people of Mena, AR are on my mind today. I am encouraging the kids to consider meteorology as a career. This would be a great place to study it!

This is my first Spring here in Arkansas and the storms make me a bit nervous, not sure when to take shelter.... My neighbor seemed to think the one the other night was nothing. Strong wind, hail, torrential rain, tornado warning.. excuse me that is Something!!
