It has been a beautiful spring here with lots of rain and BIG storms...big SCARY storms. There were many trees in bloom along the highway. I realized that on our acreage, we had very few redbuds, dogwood, or flowering cherry trees. So, I did what any good Midwestern girl would do. I ordered thirty to plant. After planting about five, I thought, what the heck was I thinking? To add to my discomfort, a lovely, large brown tarantula crawled toward me on about tree #5. Max used to pick these up, but he has learned that that is not a wise choice, at least according to his mother.
They are all planted now and in 20 years, it should be a beautiful spring in our woods.
