The children and I are kind of picky about friends. We want quality, not quantity. We want loyal. Fairweather friends, be gone! Users show up quickly on our radar screens! In return, we are very loyal.
So, Cindy asked me to make of list of whom I would like to have at my dinner party. She did not know a lot of them, and she commented on how many of them had out-of-state cell numbers. Yup, we newbies stick together!
I was running late, so the gals had time to visit before I got there. Many had never met. One of my Kansas friends took me aside and said, "WHERE did you find these wonderful women? I am quite fond of them and need them in my life." I really do hope some new friendships were born!
Look at their origins: 1-Germany, 1-Russia, 2-Kansas, 3-Oklahoma, the rest Arkansas, but only one from this small town in which we live. KANSAS girls are my favorites!
For the record, I shed a few tears when we said good-bye, but overall, we laughed and had fun and I was NOT a blubbering idiot.
And if God allows me into heaven, I hope to be with these friends again.
--An eclectic group, each with a loving heart! I wish I could tell you about each one. (a mail-order bride, a 3-pt shot record holder, an RN, a special ed teacher, etc.)
--They gave me the most thoughtful gifts. This is a globe ornament from my Russian friend.
