Maxwell is on a week-long mission trip to inner city Memphis, TN. His group of teens is doing a "Backyard Vacation Bible School". They go into the projects and teach the little ones about Jesus.
In his group, Max is in charge of songs for the children. He took along a CD. Max loves to sing and he is crazy about music. I wish I could be a fly on the wall watching him, as I know how enthusiastic he is. This is great preparation for his Nicaragua trip at the end of July.
My prayer is that he makes life-long friendships with the teens in his group, and that he always has a heart for poor children. I thank God for opportunities like this, and for the wonderful adult leaders who are with him.
He texted late last night and asked me to wash all the blankets and sheets on his bed, because he forgot to change them as I had asked. I am thinking his mission bed was not comfortable, and he wants to sink into his when he gets home.
Bless his heart. His bed will be ready!
