--When we arrived in the US with our daughter, she was extremely afraid of this woman (my mother!). Sorry to include you in this group, Grandma, but you KNOW it is true!

--When this dear lady came to meet Annabelle for speech therapy, our girl was terrified and talked about it for days.

--Our girl started out in first grade with this teacher, but had to be switched to another class due to her fear of this experienced lady.

--We were watching HGTV last night, and my girl said, "OH, I don't like that woman. She is soooo scary!!".
People question me about her fear. How old was she when we adopted her? How could she remember fear from China because she was so young at adoption? Surely she has no memories...blah blah blah. Some act like they don't believe that she came with a fear of a certain type of woman.
I just thought putting these photos together was interesting. The good thing is she is getting old enough to process some of this verbally, and I think we will make progress. Her fear is not usually crippling, but definitely something I can't ignore.
She is not afraid of Grandma any more. :)

That she can remember all of that is amazing! Wouldn't you love to just get a glimpse inside her thoughts??? Glad she adores Grandma now though!! :)
Wow, that's so interesting. Glad she is able to talk about it with you. Happy New Year!!
fascinating! That anyone could ever doubt her fears is beyond me.
