I have been substitute teaching a lot lately, usually 3-5 days a week.
We are paid weekly. On Saturdays, I get the measliest check I have ever gotten in my entire life. Let's see. Perhaps I receive other riches when subbing? Let's list them so I feel better about my low pay.
1. I am making friends.
2. I see my children in class.
3. They are not mortified by me (yet).
4. I get compliments from their teachers about them.
5. Getting to know their friends on a deeper level has been FUN.
6. Analyzing the politics/interactions/relationships in the town is entertaining.
7. Wearing clothes that I usually only wear to church is cool.
8. Doing a good job for the teachers makes me feel like I am supporting them and the school in a small way.
9.I eat less when I work.
10. The tiny paycheck does buy a few small items.
Ok, I feel better now. Thanks for listening!

That's great Kate! Your grateful heart is inspiring and the kids are lucky to have you as their sub!
