There are times when I wish parenting wasn't so difficult, or that there was a class explaining everything I need to know. All in all, I have easy children. But this year, our daughter has had great difficulty adjusting to first grade.
I have a theory as to why, involving many factors coming together for the Perfect Storm in her little head/heart. She has sobbed nearly every day since school started on August 19.
Finally, I had all I could handle, and insisted she be moved. (The administration had made several offers to move her early on, but I thought she would adjust eventually. She did not.)
Since there were no openings at her school, she was transferred to a school across town. I say across town...it is really just a few miles, not far at all.
She sang and danced and played with the cat all morning. She seemed fine when I left her with her new teacher.
I am praying really hard for her aaaaalllll day. I hope and pray this is the solution. It is really hard to see my baby girl so sad.
Happy Thursday to you! I am going to a luncheon with some friends, should be a wonderful time.
****just called to get an update. they said, "She is doing GREAT!". Thank you God for answered prayers!
