Freeze frame!

--age 6

--recent photo, age 10

I have become friends with a speech pathologist who worked with Elliot when we first arrived here, almost 4 years ago. Last week, she sent the top photo to me. It is just amazing how young he looked and how quickly that time has gone. There are moments where I wish we could just stop time for a little while and enjoy the children. I think every mama feels that way at some point.

Elliot is our third son. He has always been the most flexible, happy child. He pushes himself to excel academically and at any thing that he attempts. He is also very aware of my feelings and will ask how I am doing. He enjoys younger children, and lots of little people adore him. What a blessing this boy is to us!

You kind of do, but it works, kid!!

Elliot, Katrina was just talking about you today - so funny your mom posted this today and had to laugh when she said younger kids just love you because Katrina thinks you are practically Superman!!

And Kate, I have been thinking recently what I give for just ten minutes to time travel back to when they were babies just to get to hold them one more time and see their little faces and little smiles and little voices and laughs. Wouldn't that be amazing??? Just one little sniff - would love just one little sniff of them after they were born and they had that new baby smell.

julie- what an amazing thought. you made me think of heaven in a new way. maybe in heaven our children will have those new baby attributes. it was such a special time, and fleeting.

Elliot will miss his little admirer. All the more reason to road trip. :)
