Propagate Your Own Hydrangea

Maybe you would like to grow a lot of hydrangea, but have only one plant. It is easy to propagate baby plants. Really easy and inexpensive!

To begin, you need one healthy plant.

You will also need a bag of topsoil/potting soil, and a small pot. Oh, and don't forget, one rock.

Bend one of the hydrangea stems over the pot. Cover it with soil, making sure the bottom of the stem is touching moist soil. Put a rock on top of it to hold it in place. Water regularly.

In about 6 weeks, roots will have grown from the stem that is in the dirt! You can then cut it off the mama plant, and plant it on its own. This is a fun, easy, rewarding activity. If you do it, let me know! I started two babies today and can't wait to see them grow roots. Don't forget to water them! Happy Gardening!
