How did she do it?

I stand in amazement at someone.

But first, let me tell you what is going on here. I am working 3-5 days weekly. One day I had off, there were 7 errands to run. It took my entire day. Then, there are groceries to get regularly, because at least two of my children seem to be going through a growth spurt, as evidenced by their bottomless pits.

Only one child is in sports for now, so had a little bit of running in the evenings. Plus, there is youth group on Wednesdays, and oh, Clay is out of town on business.

Long story short. I am tarred. Tarred and feathered, I like to say. I could go to bed at 8pm if anyone would allow that. :)

When I feel tired, I think of my mother. HOW did she do it? While raising five children, and cooking amazing meals, she often worked outside of the home. The most memorable is when she worked on the NIGHT shift soon after my sister was born. I don't remember her missing our school events. If she did not transport us, she always arranged transportation.

I don't remember her complaining about being tired, or even mentioning it.

So I am not going to mention it either. :) At least not after this post. lol

Happy Thursday to you! Hope your worries are few and your joys are many!

I think you're amazing and so is Bonnie! I get overwhelmed sometimes with 2 children. Let's hear it for all the good moms out there who feed their children well, guide them spiritually, support their passions, comfort the sadness and celebrate the triumphs but most of all who are just "there" present and listening. xxoo

I can't imagine your mom complaining about doing any of that and being tired (tarred). Think about how different life was back then (no TV remotes, no microwaves, no cell phones) and how convenient so many things are for us now and we (people) complain about so many things.

Pam, loved your deep thoughts. I have thought the same thing before. I remember my mom and dad getting home around 5:30, my mom making dinner, and then both of them leaving for evening meetings. Sometimes I feel like I'm barely keeping my head above water and I don't have a career anymore. I think of my grandma who raised three kids and had to make every meal from scratch and take care of a farm. Wonder Women!! And you are one of them, Kate!!

I totally agree K. The weird thing is she still has a ton of energy and is still willing to help everyone, and complain is not in her vocabulary. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree Kath.
Makes me think of my mom too. She had 3 all 1 year apart, single mom working and raising her kids. Really makes you appreciate ALL they have done for us, hope I can follow their examples.

Thanks lovely ladies. We are all juggling a lot and doing it well. I hope some day our children reflect and say, "Mom did a good job."
