We are surrounded by the H1N1 flu, other types of flu, respiratory infections, etc. So many kids and teachers are out of school, they are having trouble finding enough substitute teachers. They asked me to apply, which shows you how desperate they are. When a mama visits the office and they ask her to sub, it is bad. LOL.
All our children have been sick, but don't you feel bad about that. One might have a fever, one a cough, one body aches....just enough to keep them home. When they get to skip school, they are very happy, so actually we've had some fun visiting together.
Max was released by the doctor to play football again. I could tell it was against the doc's better judgement. There are two games left in the season. Max PROMISES to get his head out of the way when tackling. I emailed the coach and said we really don't expect Max to be in on every play. IF the coach would want to keep him on the sidelines it would be ok. ;) If we let him heal now, it is sure better for him in the long run. Concussions are a bad bad deal.
Let's see...what else....did you know the trees here turn various shades of brown, with very few vivid yellows, reds, oranges? It is not just this fall, but every fall I have seen here. OH, I would like to show my local friends how Midwestern trees are. But I do love the warm temps and how my roses are still blooming. It's all about give and take, you know?
Basketball sign-ups are underway at the local Y. We have been stopped by several dads who say, "Annabelle, I can't wait to see you play ball again this winter". It is the funniest thing. She has no idea how they know her name. She has no idea how cute it is to see her petite self out-dribble the little boys. She seems to be loving school now and is reading like crazy. I feel so joyful when I hear her read.
That is all for today. Life is good and I am so blessed. Much love to you and yours!

Kate, regarding all the flu, etc. you might want to check out Youngliving.com essential oils. I rub Thieves oil on my girls feet each night. It is supposed to boost the immune system and help protect from getting any flu. Also, I have read if you have revisterol (sp?) in your system, your cells will not host viruses because they are protected. I've been drinking a glass of red wine each evening. Cheers!
Susan- thanks for the tip. That sounds wonderful. I'll check it out!
