Today I feel...

I am a square peg in a round hole.

I am a Midwesterner in the Mid-South.

I am a mother who asks questions.

I am an educated woman where perhaps, that is not valued?

I am vocal when others are silent.

I make waves with my questions.

I come across as offensive when actually, I am finally assertive.

I am comfortable with who I am, though others would like to lock me in a closet.

I hate ignorance.

I hate intolerance.

I hate close-mindedness.

I hate "...but we've always done it this way".

I hate "I don't like it because I've never heard of it".

I hate hypocrisy.

I hate racism.

I hate being a square peg in a round hole.

Maybe I can make a difference. Will keep trying.

You go girl! While I do believe in somes shades of grey... sometimes right is right and wrong is wrong. Sometimes the black or white just looks grey in the cover of darkness. Sometimes we have shine our light on the grey so others can see the black or white for what it is. The light may be uncomfortable to them, but they will either adjust or crawl back into the darkness. You can't make that choice for them....just shine your valuable light!

Now that's what I'm talking about......Something about the 40's makes you more outspoken and really not care what others think.....Good for you.

Thanks for your support, lovely women in my life! Feeling better this evening. It's a long story..should not make it public. Just the usual culture clash. I love you all for understanding!!!

Robin B - I totally agree with you. Sometimes it is hard to do what is right when it seems like the wrong thing to do, but you just have to do it. AND, sometimes actions definitely speak louder than words....even when you don't notice it, people are watching what you do.
