Black Hair

I write about it because it is a bit therapeutic for me. I hope you understand. We don't dwell on it.

So today she's in the bathroom with other kindergarteners. One girl she describes as "mean" says to her, "WHY is your hair BLACK?"...emphasis on the black, drawing the word out, making it sound like it is two syllables..."blaaaa- aaack". Like black hair is the most horrid disease ever.

And she responds cooly, "It's supposed to be that way".

That's my girl.

Because she is the bomb-diggity! Because she is lucky that way! But the best answer is definitely...Because that is how it is suppose to be! Way to go, Annabelle!

Evan gets teased about his hair. One time I overheard him dealing with it and Evan told the boy "Well my mom and all of her mom friends love my hair. They think it is the best. And my eyes too." : )

Evan's hair is the best. Never imagined such fabulous curls would result in teasing. I am in a bad mood about this. Wondering when the crap will stop, if ever. It makes me want to move, but maybe we'd find it there also.

I love Annabelle. I love reading your posts about her and I wish I could observe her for a day. She is one cool chick even if she is only in kindergarten.
