Home Sweet Home

Mentally, I seem to have turned a corner.

It can't be the weather. It has truly been miserable, over 100 degrees and humid. Since our pool busted, there is not much reason to be outside, except to water the wilting brown plants.

It could be the people. Seems we have made some wonderful friendships.

It helps to have the schools and their extracurricular programs. They seem to be top notch. No complaints there.

We have the privacy of living in the country, with the convenience of a city about 6 miles away. No traffic issues.

We've found a lovely church which is welcoming.

Not sure WHY, but I've turned a corner. This feels like home. This is cause for celebration, because for a long time it didn't. It will be three years in December since we moved the family here. I guess time takes care of one's longing for previous surroundings. Or maybe the praying helped.

It is a good feeling to be home.

I know exactly what you are talking about sister!
It is nice to finally feel that at home feeling...takes a while doesn't it? Glad that you are at peace there. That homesick feeling is not fun. The Lord has blessed you, and me too...how great is He. I WILL make my way down there, mark my words....sounds wonderful. Kritter and I here we come. I laughed so hard at your comment on the brown dried out flowers......take care love me

Prayer is a wonderful, powerful thing, isn't it?! I'm so glad that you are feeling settled and at home. I think it took us almost 2 years before we felt like Ladoga was home. Have fun and say hi to everyone for us!
