My Heart's in Rapid

This week a bit of my heart will be in Rapid City, South Dakota. That may seem like a strange place for my heart, but you'll understand.

Carol was my friend's mother. She IS my friend's mother, although she is not on this earth physically. Carol is one of those women whose huge smile filled the room. Every time I saw her, she was beautiful, perfectly groomed and so kind. Did I mention she was warm? She had a lot of pride in the three good kids she raised. I really enjoyed hearing her speak about them, as her face was joyous and satisfied. They had been through a lot as a family...a lot of heartache that really did not seem fair to me. I think she must have been an excellent mother.

Carol left this world just over a year ago. Her family and friends will be walking in her honor on the "Ta Tas and Tiaras" Team in Rapid this weekend.

My heart will be with them. I imagine it will be a difficult time, as their loss is so fresh. I also know they will have lots of laughter and smiles. After all, they knew and loved Carol, and her legacy lives on in joy and peace.
