This eagle nest is near my parents' home in Indiana. Mom took some friends out to it and they took this lovely photo. Can you see the male in the nest? See how his head blends with the white sky, and his body with the nest? Perfect camo.

When we first moved to this area, a bald eagle was flying above my van as I drove on a local highway. It was amazing. I could see the bird, drove under it, then its shadow was in front of my van...as if guiding me. It was majestic and awe-inspiring.

I read that the eagle is a symbol of great wisdom and vision in the lore of Navajo and Crow Native American legend. It is often associated as a sacred emblem, and if one dreams about this bird, it means the dreamer is set apart for special uses by the Great Spirit.

"In Hebrew and Greek literature, the eagle is a symbol of power. Given its great size and strength, eagles were able to remove even small livestock from the herds. This gave the eagle a persona of majesty, power, and fear. To dream of the eagle is to be spiritually validated as a person of great wisdom and insight concerning both this world and the spiritual realities beyond the comprehension of this world."

I have never dreamt about an eagle, have you? Maybe tonight? Thanks for sharing this picture, Mom. I am so happy eagles now have safe places to live.
