Farewell, fair Texas!

It is 11:09pm on Friday night in Grapevine, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. Tomorrow I shall be drug over the state line, kicking and screaming all the way. It has been a perfect and memorable vacation.

I wish I had blogged all week as there have been many fun things we have done. Here is a list of all the venues we attended:

Sunday Six Flags Over Texas (Arlington, TX near Dallas)
Monday Drove to San Antonio, stopping at Cabela's in Buda, TX
Tuesday Natural Bridge Caverns and Drive Thru Zoo
Wednesday San Antonio Zoo, The Alamo, The Riverwalk
Thursday A big storm with large hail was approaching San Antonio, so we skipped Sea World and drove to Grapevine TX. We are staying at the Great Wolf Lodge. (Sol says, "This place is awesome".)

Easily, the highlight for me was The Alamo and The Riverwalk. The sense of history in the Alamo was quite amazing. I would have loved to have spent more time on the Riverwalk. It is kind of hard to shop and tour with four children who love water and appear to be trying to stage an accidental fall into the river at any given moment. We did enjoy a boat tour of the Riverwalk.

In a nutshell, San Antonio was awesome and I hope to return and do more adult activities, like shopping, antiquing, history stuff. What a fabulous, culturally rich city!!! I'll post pictures in a few days.

San Antonio is on my destination list, great to hear such a great review. We have a Great Wolf Lodge about an hour from us, the girls love it! Sounds like a good spring break, can't wait for ours--I am ready for a break from the daily routine!
