I wasn't going to blog about this, because it is so negative, and I am choosing joy, right? lol But alas, you are my therapists. :)
It takes a lot these days to make my blood boil. Anger just isn't a big part of me (on most days). My dear daughter started gymnastics in January. She was moved to an advanced class due to her skill (I will interject here that she is an amazing athelete. I can say that because I gave her none of her genes, so I feel it is ok to brag). As I watch class, I see a little girl being so rude to my girl. Annabelle is very meek in class. I see the girl flipping her hair, pointing at Annabelle, mocking her. Slowly, I feel warm then HOT all over. This is how it feels to have my blood boil! I don't like it.
I have spoken with the coach twice. If it happens again, no, when it happens again, I am going to handle it myself. Little Miss Snotty Pants is going to meet the mama whom she has been insulting. Yes, she said I was stinky. And she said Clay is stinky, too. lol
It is times like this when racism comes to mind. That might have nothing to do with this little girl's attitude. BUT all the girls are white, and I think Annabelle is the only one that is getting picked on...it makes me wonder. I CAN SEE WHY PEOPLE CRY "RACISM!" when white people don't see it. I think the ugly R word is alive and well.
I am aware I am new to this world of little girls- so maybe it is just a mean little girl thing.
Hope you Friday is peaceful. Thanks for listening. I feel better.
ps I promise to be gentle and kind with Little Miss Snotty Pants.

I'm so sad this is happening and Mama Bear you have every right to protect your daughter. Go get her!
ohmygosh! it's amazing what kids will say, as a fellow mama bear, i say let her have it! btw you're doing her a favor and modeling to annabelle to set boundaries on how to be treated.
I do think girls are often cruel in ways that wouldn't even register with boys. My heart goes out to you and my blood boils just hearing about it. I write some of my thoughts on the subject of racism in my notebooks. Eventually they may find a way into a full fledged blog post. Thanks for sharing this with us!
Reading this blog Kate it becomes personal as the mother of three bi-racial boys. I remember when an adult yelled in the "christian" book store for the other sales people to come look at the little brown baby. Educating adults on stupid, hurtful and yes racist comments has been my crusade! Ha! Im doing this one adult at a time and hoping to plug into the Republican Trickle Down Theory that it will change their children too. Having a multiracial and cultural family is such a blessing and I want others to enjoy too. LOL My sister adopted a baby from Hati. She is our Hatian Queen that brings such joy to us! Love you girl!
