There are three big things on my mind today.
1. CHINA- there are no new words to add to what has been written or said about the devastation there. A charity that helps the orphanages says that many supplies are needed, including milk powder and diapers. The orphanages are getting new children every day. I don't see any feasible way they can provide for every child. Many of these children were malnourished BEFORE the earthquake, so it seems that much sickness and death is yet to come. The good thing, in my opinion, is China says they will try to keep these children in their homeland. Why add to their trauma by shipping them overseas? I pray for the children today and every day...and I thank God for food on our table and a roof over our heads. (I am sounding sooo much like my father). If you would like to donate, or see some interesting pictures, here is a link to one of my favorite charities: http://halfthesky.org/work/earthquake08.php
2. The Honey-Do List- Clay jokes that his is never-ending. What else would he do with free time? Mom is coming to visit tonight, yippee, so Clay has focused a lot on my Honey-Do List over the weekend. Mom should really visit more often. ;) Thanks, Clay.
3. One reason Mom is flying down is that Max is receiving a Citizenship Award tomorrow at school. He does not know it yet. I am very proud of him. Being the new-kid-on-the-block is not easy, especially at his age. He has handled it gracefully, all the while telling us he is moving back to Indiana in 7th grade. My Dad always told us we had to have dreams, it was OK to have dreams....I tell Max the same thing. I hope he starts to love it here this summer.
